From Laughing Moon Mercantile. Multi-Sized 2 – 36. PLEASE NOTE that this is the skirt pattern only. For the bodice, please see SKU#100170103.
A beautiful skirt, historically accurate, flattering and easy to make. 1890’s period or modern skirt has seams at side front, side back, center back and pleated back panels. Back opening has period placket or modern zipper. The lining is sewn to the skirt in the flat lined method and the hems are faced. The skirt has a waistband and a single optional pocket. There are three length options, walking, short and long train. Create it in the walking skirt length for easy mobility or a stunning modern look. The short train length is great for evening, or the long train length for bridal and other formal occasions.
Easy. Perhaps, you need a outfit for a Victorian Christmas party or to interpret an historic home. You may not be an expert costumer or an advanced sewer. This pattern has simple picture instructions. Pair the skirt with a purchased Victorian-style blouse, thrift-store hat, and shawl and you have an easy “Old-Timey”, “Gay 90’s”, late Victorian costume.
Flattering. The A-line front, gracefully draped back, and swirling sweep at the hem create a flattering fit on the whole range of sizes (including our body form for women 55 years and older).
Accurate. Represents the 1890’s. This is a gorgeous Victorian skirt whether you corset or not – and- hoops or bustles aren’t needed.
