In use from the middle until the end of the 18th century, this pistol saw use in all conflicts in which British Dragoons were involved, from the battlefield of Culloden to the Wars of the French Revolution. It was replaced in the light Dragoons in 1760, but soldiered on with the heavies for many more years.
