When writing on a ship rolling on the waves, special adaptations must be made to ensure that your inkwell does not overturn or open unexpectedly. This lacquered brass Captain’s inkwell is one solution to the problem: it has a wide flange at the bottom to steady it, and its small opening at the top is covered by a brass kid that swings to the side rather than lifting up. You don’t have to own a ship to enjoy this inkwell — it looks lovely in a den, office, or library too. Approx. 9cm in diameter by 10cm high (3.5″ x 4″). Quill sold separately.
