The “sail” of the sundial folds up to cast appropriate shadows, and the sundial’s plate is also hinged so that it may be adjusted to the appropriate angle as indicated by the built-in fold-out scale — so your time reading will be the most accurate possible. Below the sundial is a fully functional compass with the added sparkle of a bright green faux jewel at its center. All three of the legs on which it sits are fully adjustable height-wise with a screw mechanism. When folded, it fits neatly into its 4″ (10 cm) x 4″ (10 cm) x 2″ (5 cm) wooden box with brass finishings and inlaid brass diamond on its top.
