This was a fusil version of the standard model 1777 .69 calibre musket. It used the brass pan as well as making two out of the three barrel bands brass instead of steel. It's use was not restricted to the Dragoons. The Light Infantry, Artillery, Navy and National Guard were also armed with this weapon.
