This three-legged brass chart reader comes in a beautiful wooden box with a brass diamond inlay on the lid. This is a reproduction of an 18th century chart magnifier used by navigators to enlarge small detail on charts. The magnifier can be focused by turning the lens in its threaded holder – the magnification level is about 3x. Approximately 7.75cm (3″ ) tall.
